January 12, 2002:Jane Austen Evening presented by the Lively Arts History Association, at the Scottish Rite Hall in Pasadena, CA. The Jane Austen Evening is a mixture of live music, food, authentic dance, historical discussion, gaming and tea. Tickets to the ball are $25 by check made out to "Lively Arts History Association" and mailed to 7341 Etiwanda Ave, Reseda CA 91335. Ball practice is January 6.
January 19, 2002: The Seattle English Country Ball in a new location this year
March 15-17, 2002: BACDS Spring Weekend of ECD and contra dance. Scott Higgs and David Newitt lead the ECD, music by the Guppies
May 24-27, 2002: Northwest Folklife Festival in Seattle. Participatory and performance dance from around the world, plus much more. English Country and Ritual dance. Free!

October 18-20, 2002: BACDS Fall Weekend at Monte Toyon with Laura Mé Smith, Mary Devlin, Richard Powers and Jocelyn Reynolds teaching, with musicians including the trio of Jim Oakden, Shira Kammen, and Charlie Hancock playing for English dance
November 1-2, 2002: Portland English Country Ball and Pre-Ball Dance. Pre-Ball Dance w/Nan Evans, Dave Macemon and Cynthia Stenger. Music by Dave Goldman, Betsy Branch, and Denis Wilkinson. Special location: Fulton Park Community Center, 68 SW Miles Street, Portland, OR 97219, Off of Barbur, at the traffic light just east of Terwilliger. The ball will be led by Nan Evans, with music by Jim Oakden, Julie King, Kathleen Towers, Fred Nussbaum. Smith Center Ballroom, PSU Campus. Admission: $28. Pre-registration required.
