Art at SSCC
SSCC's Art program provides a grounding in various disciplines including emerging technology, opportunities for independent study, and personal enrichment for those students not pursuing a degree. The SSCC Art Gallery provides our students with at least two opportunities each academic year to show their work in a professional gallery.
At the college, we have cross-disciplinary interaction linking Liberal Studies courses with students in the technical programs such as Welding Fabrication, Machining, Landscape Horticulture, and Floristry.
Our courses are designed to increase the understanding of art in expressing and reflecting all aspects of human experience.
Full-time and part-time instructors are practicing artists. The faculty are innovative and provide excellent instruction.
Students taking introductory and advanced art courses are trained to enter four-year schools and art programs when they leave SSCC. Our students have won awards locally and nationally.
