Hailed by the Seattle Times as "outstanding, brilliant and expressive," Seattle native John Carrington was Guest Principal Harpist of the Seattle Symphony for several seasons with regular performances with the Seattle Opera and Pacific Northwest Ballet orchestras.
Along with his orchestral, chamber and choral accompanying work, John is active as a freelancer in the greater Seattle area and across the country. He has extensive experience playing at weddings, memorials and a wide range of other special occasions and events.
John's classical background includes performances with such conductors as Seiji Ozawa, Charles Dutoit, Leonard Slatkin, Gerard Schwarz and John Rutter.
His popular music experience is equally notable, as he has shared the stage with Tony Bennett, James Taylor, Rita Moreno, Doc Severinsen and Jose Carreras, to name a few.
In addition, John is a sought-after recording artist, participating in more than 50 motion picture soundtracks, including "Mr. Holland's Opus" and several Disney and Hallmark Hall of Fame productions.
He received his Master of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music after earning his Bachelor of Music from the University of Washington.
